Mount Maunganui

There is Tauranga city 35 km's from here. Lots of nice shops and malls, and Mount Maunganui has an awesome surf beach, and hot water, salt mineral pools.

To the North of katiKati is Waihi Beach, and a short walk over the hills North of Waihi Beach is Orokawa beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in NZ.

Even in KatiKati itself, there is heaps to do. If you like hiking, tramping in the bush, the bush walks are 10 minute walk away from our house.
KatiKati also has a lovely inner harbour where it is great to sail and fish and swim.
There are many points in KatiKati, that are each very beautiful. To name a few: Kauri point, with a 10 metre wooden jetty, Ongare point with a nice walkway and beach, Tanners point, with a small jetty and walk way, Tuapiro point, with a lovely walk along a pine forest peninsula and nice grass reserve.
